If you're looking to serve legal documentation but finding it difficult, a process server is a professional third party that can serve papers on your behalf quickly and in a professional manner.
Being served legal documentation such as court orders or statutory demands is never a pleasant experience for either party and can often lead to unwanted confrontation, so it’s a good idea to engage with a process server to act on your behalf.
Here’s a quick guide on how a process server works with you to serve legal papers.
How can I find a process server?
Eclipse Legal Services has a specialist team dedicated to serving all types of legal documentation for clients throughout the UK. Professional and time effective, they can ensure that your papers are served quickly, and we also offer a Tracing Service for those difficult to track down respondents or defendants that have gone under the radar.
How do I instruct a process server?
It’s simple to get the outcome you want from engaging with our team of process servers with just a few steps. Firstly, get in touch with our friendly and knowledgeable team to discuss your needs, and we'll make arrangements to receive the papers you wish to serve, either by collection in person, post or DX.
Once we have the papers, they will be served to the individual as per your instructions and a second set of papers will be returned to you with proof of service which can include a Statement of Service, Certificate of Service or exhibited to a sworn Affidavit depending on what is served and the legal requirements.
These proof of service documents will include the time, date and place the document was served.
What types of documents does a process server serve?
From Section 8 notices to High Court process and orders to attend court, there is a wide range of papers that our team of process servers can deal with on your behalf.

How much does a process server cost?
Before you engage our process server services, we’ll provide you with a highly competitive quote that’s free from any hidden charges or extras
Our cost includes the time spent by our process servers in attending at the address and attempts in serving the documents, all mileage that can soon get expensive and a proof of service, hence the reason we prefer to work on a fixed cost basis as we believe it offers better value and total transparency for our clients.
